Within the last few years, Cannabidiol has become hugely popular with hemp-based products increasing in popularity and demand. The 2018 Farm Bill
The Farm Bill of 2018 brought about a change in the law over the use of hemp-based products, including CBD. This Bill is on a federal level but includes a limit over the use of THC. Essentially, Cannabidiol can’t contain THC levels over 0.3% and that’s a vital number. Anything over could impact someone so it’s a strict part of the Bill that must be followed. Restrictions with Hemp Ingredients in Beverages and Food Products
As said above, the 2018 Farm Bill has made an impact on how Cannabidiol is used by it’s also important to understand that it didn’t make CBD legal. What it means is that CBD or any ingredient related to it, such as hemp seed oil, isn’t actually recommended or approved for food or drinks. Hemp seed oil hasn’t been approved by the FDA so any product with this isn’t technically legal. As yet, CBD, along with hemp seed oil, doesn’t have approval for use in beverages or consumable goods, i.e. food products. What’s important to remember is that the impact of CBD on an individual is unknown; if the THC levels are 0.3% or below, most may not show any reactions. The Confusion of CBD and Regional Restrictions
Hemp-based products, including Cannabidiol, are regulated closely and that creates some level of confusion because every region or state has its own restrictions.
